Quick Answer
Haier publishes per-code meanings for quad door fridges: sensors, fans, defrost, ice maker, door switches and damper motors. The full official list.
Haier does publish per-code meanings for its quad door refrigerators, and the list is long. It covers temperature and defrost sensors, fans, the ice maker, door switches, damper motors and the dispenser. Haier's recommended action for every code on the list is the same: book a service technician. What the list gives you is something more useful than a fix, which is knowing which part of the fridge has reported the fault before anyone opens it up.

Watch the capital letters
Haier's table lists both EH and Eh, described as a humidity sensor error and a humidity sensor failure. It also uses mixed case elsewhere, such as Ed, Er, Fd and LD. Displays do not always make the difference obvious, so when you report a code, say which characters you see rather than assuming the case.
The same caution applies to codes that appear twice. UE and UF each show up as both an EPP module error and a refrigerator EPP open or close error. That is Haier's own table, not a typo on our part, and it is another reason the model number matters when you book service.
What the groups tell you
Sensors are the biggest group by far. A quad door fridge has separate compartments, each needing its own temperature and defrost sensors, plus humidity and zone sensors for the flexible drawer. More compartments means more sensors, and sensors are the most common failure point on any modern refrigerator.
Fan codes explain warm compartments. If one compartment is warm while another is fine, a fan code is a likely culprit. E1 and H8 are the freezer fan, E6 the refrigerator fan, E2 the cooling fan, and E3 the ice maker fan. Air not moving between compartments is what causes uneven temperatures.
Damper motors control where cold air goes. H0 and H1 are damper motor errors. A damper stuck open or closed shows up as one compartment too cold and another too warm, which people often mistake for a thermostat problem.
Door switch codes are worth a look before you book. P0, P2, P3 and P4 are door switch errors. The fridge believes a door is open. Before assuming the switch has failed, check that nothing is propping a door or drawer open and that the seals are clean, because a door held ajar by a container produces the same symptoms.
What to do while you wait
Haier sends all of these to a technician, so the practical priority is the food. According to FoodSafety.gov, a refrigerator keeps food safe for about 4 hours with the door closed, a full freezer about 48 hours, and a half full freezer about 24 hours. Keep the fridge at 40 degrees Fahrenheit or below and the freezer at 0 degrees or below.
Use a separate appliance thermometer rather than the panel reading. On a fridge reporting a sensor fault, the panel is being fed by the component that may be wrong.
Three free checks before the visit: make sure the vents inside are not blocked by packed food, confirm there is clearance around the back and sides for heat to escape, and check the doors and drawers all seal. If your ice maker is the thing that stopped, our guide on an ice maker that is not working covers the water supply side, which is a common cause unrelated to any code.
Getting it fixed
If you are in Fairfield or anywhere in Solano County, California, we can connect you with a local technician who works on Haier refrigerators. Our refrigerator repair page explains how the referral works. If the fridge is still under the manufacturer's warranty, contact Haier or GE Appliances first, because sealed system work in particular is usually covered.
Frequently asked questions
Can I fix a Haier quad door refrigerator error code myself?
Haier's published action for every code on this list is to book a service technician. You can still check door seals, airflow and clearance, which are free and occasionally the real cause.
What is the difference between EH and Eh?
Haier lists EH as a humidity sensor error and Eh as a humidity sensor failure. Report exactly which characters your display shows.
One compartment is warm but the other is fine. Which codes matter?
Look at the fan and damper codes. E1 and H8 are the freezer fan, E6 the refrigerator fan, E2 the cooling fan, and H0 and H1 are damper motor errors.
What does UE mean on a Haier fridge?
Haier's table lists UE as both an EPP module error and a refrigerator EPP open error, with UF as the matching close error. The duplication is in Haier's own list, so the model number matters when you report it.
My ice maker stopped but there is no code. What now?
Ice maker problems are often water supply problems rather than faults the control can see, so check the supply line and filter first.
